Escape and enjoy the sounds of native birds and the pristine river. This is the ultimate nature retreat and romantic getaway located 10 minutes walk or a 5-minute 4WD ride from Makoura Lodge (we provide transport if required).
During your stay, enjoy swimming, fishing, nature walks, stargazing, toasting marshmallows, bathing, board games, or swinging in the hammock as you read your book. The cosy potbelly fire makes this retreat a fantastic stay in the winter months as well as in summer.

The retreat is designed to give you the ultimate nature getaway from civilisation and the stresses of technology. The cabin has gas for hot water, lanterns and candles for lighting. Switch off; there is no power, WIFI, and cellphone reception is none to limited.
The retreat is designed for a maximum of two people. For family getaways please see our cottages or lodge suite accommodation.
We allow you to bring your dog but please not on the furniture or bed.
Check in is from 2pm and check out is by 11am.
