Engage in team-building activities at one of the top attractions in Manawatu! Makoura Lodge provides a range of exciting indoor and outdoor activities. These can be booked separately or as part of a package with catering and accommodation for a complete experience.

Outdoor Activities

    Clay Target Shooting

    Take hold of a shotgun and aim at clay targets. An experienced instructor will provide guidance on accuracy & safety. Min age 12yrs.

    $100pp for 25 shots, extra 25 shots $50pp | $48pp for ten shots (min of 10 pax) | $480 per hour: one shotgun & one guide for unlimited clays | $850 per hour: two shot guns & two guides for unlimited clays (for larger groups)

    It’s time to bring out your inner Viking! This activity requires skill and coordination rather than sheer strength. Highly satisfying!

  • Photo Scavenger Hunt

    Your team will be given a hilarious set of scenarios to act out and a list of things to take photos of. Suitable for all.

    $200 for up to 6 guests, then $25pp thereafter

  • Hill Country Safari

    Jump in the ute with owner Hugh whilst he takes you over our thrilling 4x4 track. You will tackle a range of obstacles and enjoy a running commentary of our heritage and stunning property along the way. Duration: Approx 50 minutes

    $285 per trip (4 seats)

  • 4x4 Self-Drive

    Get behind the wheel and have a blast while learning valuable 4WD skills on our purpose-built 4x4 track which is like no other in the country! Tuition will be provided by Hugh (owner) who is an AdventureMark safety-approved instructor.

  • Yoga with Brooke

    Join Brooke for a relaxing and revitalising yoga session. Brooke has international experience teaching a variety of students from first timers to experienced. Sessions can be adapted according to abilities.

    $300 per group up to a max of 10 then $20pp thereafter. Session one hour.

Indoor Activities

    Cocktail Making Classes

    Join our cocktail-making expert and learn how to mix, shake, and muddle a variety of cocktails. Sample them all, then craft your own masterpiece.

    $58 pp. Add a grazing board for $22pp

  • Makoura Music Challenge

    Your entertaining host will play a bunch of tunes while you and your teammates guess the artist or song name and complete a competitive quiz. There are four rounds and questions have a mix of old school, kiwi, and pop beats.

    $200 for up to 6 guests, then $20pp thereafter

  • Acknowledgment of this activity consent form will be required by each participant.

    MAKOURA LODGE LIMITED AND TODIA FARM LIMITED ACTIVITIES CONSENT FORM & RISK DISCLOSURE

    The staff and the management of Makoura Lodge take all practicable steps to identify and minimise potential danger, however, in any activity, hazards and risks exists.

    Risks in undertaking onsite activities include but are not limited to:

    • Mental and physical injury, illness, broken bones, sprains, cuts, tears, wounds, dislocation, head injury, bruising, burns, damage to property and equipment, and death

    • 4x4- rolling, collision, hitting obstacles such as rocks and trees, equipment failure, damage to vehicles, and being hit by a vehicle

    • Claybird shooting- rifle kick back and shot gun wound

    • Animals- collision, biting, charging, treading on body, kicking, and rope burn

    Participant’s duties:

    • I agree that I am physically and mentally capable of participating in the activity and are not under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs

    • I agree that as a condition of participating I will wear suitable footwear and clothing

    • I am responsible for following instructions and using the safety equipment and protocols given/ provided. While staff also inspect the equipment use, I agree that I will be responsible for checking my own equipment and will inform staff of any issues

    • I will disclose any medical condition that may affect my ability to perform an activity safely

    • As the adult accompanying any person under the age of 18, I will ensure that the underage person follows instructions

    • I give Makoura Lodge Limited permission to use photos and videos taken during the activity for promotional and social media purposes

    Makoura Lodge’ rights, recommendations, and limited liability:

    • We reserve the right to withdraw any person or cancel the activity without refund if we become concerned for your safety or that of any other person

    • We recommend that you have full insurance covering any injury you might suffer, including medical treatment cover, before undertaking this activity

    • I understand that if I act recklessly or intentionally, and do not follow the rules or instructions set out by Makoura Lodge Limited and the guide, which you have been made aware of, Makoura Lodge Limited will not be held responsible for any injury, damage, or loss I cause to myself, property, or another person/property

    • If I damage equipment or property owned by Makoura Lodge Limited or a landowner, I agree to pay to Makoura Lodge Limited (or the landowner) all costs associated with repairing the damage

    • I agree that the owner(s) of the land on which the activity is conducted will not be held responsible for any death, injury, misadventure, damage to or loss of property caused in whole or part by these activities

    • Please be ready for your activity at the time booked to avoid additional staffing fees

    • If alcohol has been consumed you may not be able to participate in activities. No alcohol before using a rifle.

    • The number booked is the number charged

    • You will not be charged if Makoura Lodge cancels the activity due to poor weather
