All accommodation is located within close proximity, consisting of six modern suites (each accommodating four to six people) and two houses: Burnside Bungalow (sleeping up to ten guests) and Glenluce Homestead (sleeping up to eighteen guests), for a total of up to fifty-seven. In addition, you may choose to book our Riverside Retreat (sleeps two).
Group Sleeping Arrangements
To ensure a smooth check-in, the group organiser allocates guests’ rooms in the Sleep Plan format below before the Event. We kindly ask that the organiser provide a completed copy of this plan at least 14 days prior to the booking. Āpiti Tavern and Eatery
8-minute drive. Please call 06 3284848 or see the web for opening hours.
Farmers Market/ Town
The closest town to us is Feilding, which is 40 minutes away. They have a Farmer’s Market on a Friday morning, boasting excellent local produce.
Limestone Creek Glow Worm Caves
25-minute drive north. It is best to go at night if you want to see glowworms. You will need a torch, warm clothing, and suitable footwear. To get there, drive to Āpiti, turn right, turn right again when you get to Table Flat Road, and follow the signs to Sixtus Lodge. You will come to a gravel road. Limestone Creek Reserve is signposted on the right side of the road after a small bridge.
Ruahine Forest Park
25-minute drive. There are a variety of tramps and huts. Alice Nash Heritage Memorial Lodge and Rangiwahia Hut are two short tramps. Please search online for further information.
Cross Hills Gardens
20-minute drive towards Kimbolton. The large seven-hectare park-like garden includes one of the world’s finest collections of rhododendrons and azaleas. Open all year round. See more here https://crosshills.co.nz/
Manawatu Cycleway

If more than 35 guests are staying in Makoura Lodge’s accommodation, there is additional space for caravans and tents on our beautiful lodge grounds. We don’t have official sites; however, if you require power, you can park behind the lodge accommodation and use a standard power outlet there. Bathroom and shower access will be inside the main lodge.

The following pricing is a flat rate across all group accommodation (Glenluce, Burnside, and six lodge suites).
Payment can be made upon check-in by your guests.
Pricing includes one full-cooked breakfast on the day of departure.
Adult B&B discount rate - for more than 30 guests staying
One night: $100pp | Two nights: $170 pp
Adult B&B rate - for 20 to 30 guests staying
One night: $135 pp | Two nights: $210 pp
Children B&B rate (5-12years)- One night: $75 pp | Two nights: $134 pp (children are classed as 5-12 years of age)
Children B&B rate (under 5 years)- One night: $63 pp | Two nights: $126 pp | no charge for porta-cots
Caravans & Camping B&B rate - One night: $55 pp | Two nights: $80 pp (permitted only if more than 35 guests are staying onsite. Capacity is 20 people.
