Makoura Lodge is the perfect wedding venue for an entire weekend celebration! Tying the knot is a super special occasion and it takes a lot of effort for your guests to travel from afar; that's why you’ll have access to the venue and accommodation starting from the day before your wedding until the morning after (a total of two nights and two days). This allows you to cherish precious moments with your loved ones while our dedicated team handles all the details on your special day.

Outdoor Garden Ceremony
Choose between exchanging vows outdoors in our native gardens alongside tui and kereru, or enjoy the cosy ambiance inside by the grand open fireplace. After the ceremony, toast with champagne and enjoy delicious canapes provided by our attentive team.
Onsite Catering & Beverage
Our venue has everything you need for a simple-to-plan wedding. We offer a delicious collection of buffet menu choices made with fresh ingredients from our garden and local meats.
Our boutique bar has a diverse selection of beer, wines, spirits, RTDs, and non-alcoholic beverages. Our wedding venue allows two 750ml bottles of BYO wine per 10 adult guests.
Rustic Charm Wedding Reception
The wedding reception space accommodates up to 110 guests and seamlessly connects to the outdoor ceremony area. It’s a charmer with its macrocarpa ceilings and panoramic outlook of the Ruahine Ranges.
As an all-inclusive venue we take care of background music and provide microphones for speeches. When it is time to dance the night away being a true country venue you do not need to worry about noise infringements! Late in the evening, the onsite accommodation provides an effortless flow.
Wedding Venue with Accommodation
By choosing Makoura Lodge as your wedding venue you will gain exclusive access to all accommodation for up to 52 guests and unlimited camping for two nights - the night before and the night of your wedding. Burnside Cottage is ideal for wedding preparations with its gorgeous native timber and hallway arch. Newlyweds can choose to stay in the secluded Riverside Retreat.
Breakfast Day After Wedding
Reminisce with your guests the next morning over a delicious, cooked breakfast and barista coffee. As the Makoura dream team clean up all you need to do is take your décor home (walk-in walk-out venue!). We have a leisurely check-out time of 11 am so you can continue to enjoy your weekend wedding celebration.
Off Season Wedding Packages
Take advantage of our off-season or Wednesday weddings with reduced rates. Additionally, there are no minimum guest numbers so you can enjoy an intimate, boutique-style wedding.
