I wasn’t quite sure what to expect but found the whole place, pace of life, openness and overall experience enchanting. The views blow your boots off and the freedom to wander around the farm estate was much appreciated as I enjoyed a number of walks through some delightful countryside. Makoura Lodge is a first class facility in a part of the country I suspect not many, even New Zealanders, are well acquainted with.
