Makoura Lodge Lamb Shanks 

 

Ingredients:

8 lamb shanks

½ cup tomato sauce

2 cups red wine

2 tblsp sweet chilli sauce

¼ cup brown sugar

2 onions (sliced

2 teasp tuscan seasoning

1 sprig fresh rosemary

2 tblsp cornflour

 


 

Method:

Place lamb shanks into slow cooker.

Mix red wine, tomato sauce, sweet chilli sauce, brown sugar and tuscan seasoning into a bowl and mix together.

Pour over lamb shanks and cut up sprig of rosemary and sprinkle over the top.

Cook for good six hours.

Take lamb shanks out of slow cooker and place into a cooking dish.

With sauce left over in slow cooker, skim off excess fat and thicken sauce with cornflour.

Then pour thickened sauce over lamb shanks in cooking dish.

Place in oven at 180 C and cook for another 15 to 20 minutes so the sauce goes sticky and the lamb shank brown.
